Batwing Emerger

Batwing Emerger Fly Tying Instructions

The Batwing Emerger is a great emerger pattern.  The large wings imitates a late stage emerging insect.  The Batwing Emerger is meant to be nymphed below the waters surface on a nymping rig.  The Batwing Emerger also doubles as a drowned adult dry fly as well.  Once insects hatch and fall to the water, they are often swept away and drowned below the waters surface.  The Batwing does a great job of imitating these insects.  The Batwing Emerger is meant to be a mayfly emerger, so it can be tied in Blue Winged Olive and Pale Morning Dun colors.
