Bonefish Scampi Fly Tying Video Instructions

Bonefish Scampi Fly Tying Video Instructions DirectionsThe Bonefish Scampi was developed by Henry Cowen and is a favorite among the many Bonefish anglers.  One of the reasons the Bonefish Scampi works so well is due to  it’s lifelike movement.  The rabbit strip in the Bonefish Scampi pulsates and moves in the tidal currents and waves.  Even when the Bonefish Scampi is not being moved!  The Bonefish Scampi imitates a small shrimp, one of the favorite meals for hungry Bonefish.

The best color to tie the Bonefish Scampi in is light tan, tan and pink.  Most would say that it imitates a Juvenile Mantis Shrimp.  The rabbit strip is a great match for the elongated body of the Mantis Shrimp and also moves just like all the legs on the Mantis Shrimp Body.  The color is also very close.  The light tan is a near perfect match to the Mantis Shrimp body.  So you combine profile, movement and color together and you have a perfect Bonefish fly!  Redfish and Permit are also big fans of the Bonefish Scampi.  Do not rule it out as a Bonefish fly only!
