Clouser Swimming Nymph

Clouser Swimming Nymph Fly Tying Instructions

The Clouser Swimming Nymph is the perfect carp pattern.  The Clouser Swimming Nymph just has a certain “buggyness” to it that carp cannot resist.  The Swimming Nymph was designed to imitate a juvenile crayfish, which are easy prey for carp.  The Clouser Swimming Nymph was engineered around movement and weight.  The rabbit tail and legs ungulate in the water.  It requires little movement in order to trigger the bit.  The Clouser Swimming Nymph will move and pulse while just sitting on the bottom.  The weighted body is the perfect amount of weight.  Just enough to get the fly to the bottom, but not so much that it hits the water like a ton of bricks.  The Clouser Swimming Nymph remains to be a standard among carp fisherman.
