Halfback Nymph

Halfback Nymph Fly Tying Instructions

The Halfback Nymph is one of the true “buggy” flies.  It is not made to specifically imitate any specific bug, but the fish love them!  Most would say the Halfback is a stonefly imitation, but it also imitates a juvenile crayfish, cased caddis, dragonfly nymph or small minnow.  Who knows, but the fish eat em up!  The halfback can be tied in a variety of sizes from #04-12.  A beadhead can also be added for extra weight.
