Sawyer Pheasant Tail

Sawyer Pheasant Tail Fly Tying Instructions

Sawyer Pheasant Tail NymphThe Sawyer Pheasant Tail is tied a bit different than a standard Pheasant Tail Nymph.  The Sawyer Style Pheasant Tail uses copper wire for the thorax in place of the peacock herl.  This makes the Sawyer Pheasant Tail a slimmer and heavier version of the traditional Pheasant Tail.  The added wire also adds a little flash to the fly.  A very effective fly for picky trout!
