The Arkansas River in Pueblo is ON!  Fishing has drastically improved this week, mainly due to the increased flows. The river is now at 143 CFS and will continue to rise through out the month.  Today was a day of big fish!  We caught, hooked and lost several in the 17-21 inch range.  The morning was great for the typical Arkansas River fish.  We hooked plenty of 10-14 inch fish on midges right off the bat in the morning.

The afternoon heated up with some big fish.  The larger fish are on eggs.  It is spawning time and the fish are colored up!  Fish 2 or 3X tippet to your egg.  No need to fish anything lighter to the egg.  Use 5x to you midge.  Small Thingamabobbers for the skinny water and Medium’s for the deep runs.  The water is up and the clarity is dropping a bit.  Don’t worry, this is in your favor and it is not bad, just a bit of tint.  Another unbelievable day of fishing with Kyle and Tony!
