Flow: 61 CFS
Water Temp: 42 Degrees

Today was a great day!  The fishing picked up a bit this morning.  Overnight temperatures were a little warmer and I think that had an impact on the fishing.  Midges are still the only bugs we are really seeing.  We were able to get a few bigger fish today.  Everyone in the group caught at least one nice fish.  Early in the morning we caught the majority of fish.  There was even a brief window of dry fly activity.

Tony was able to get a great fish later in the day.  The egg is still the way to get the bigger fish to eat.  The fish are beginning to spawn.  We saw the beginning of beds in several areas.  If you see a clean gravel area in relatively shallow water, avoid walking on it.  It is very apparent where the fish are digging.  The gravel with be almost white and all the rocks totally clean of river scum.

Zim took a nice fish late in the day on a miracle midge.  This has been the hot fly for the last few days.  Kyle had plenty tied up in size 20.  This was his favorite fly for the day.  Got to love a decent weather day in February!  I brought the video camera along today too!  I was able to get some great footage of the guys catching fish.  Check it out below.

  1. What a awesome day James, great weather, caught some slabs, spent time with some great friends. Last time to fish with big Zim before he moves to MN. He will be missed! Keep up the good work!

  2. James,

That was ultra fun yesterday; not because of the fishing catching, but as friends we had a blast and it was just super chill. Always fun fishing with you!!
