Perdigon Jig

The Perdigon is a European fly developed in Spain as a fly fishing competition fly pattern. The Perdigon is simple, durable and infinitely customizable. The weight of the fly can also be changed by sizing the bead up or down. Giving the Perdigon all the hallmark traits of a good competition fly pattern. The Perdigon is a very effective pattern, and is meant to be fished very near the bottom “Euro Style”. It is thought to imitate small caddis grubs, nymphs and larva near the river bottom. The Perdigon can be tied in both jigged and non-jigged versions. Although the jigged versions seem to have taken the industry by storm and are widely considered the most popular. A fun fly to tie, and very easy to get carried away with all the colors!!
