Simram Bonefish Fly

The Simram is a bonefish fly developed in the early 1990's on Andros Island in the Bahamas. The Simram is one of those "forgotten" bonefish patterns. Many anglers have been quick to switch to the latest Rubberleg Gotcha and Scampi fly patterns. The Simram is still a very deadly bonefish pattern to this day and remains one of the best. The key to this fly is the eye placement and rabbit collar. The rabbit collar pulses and undulates in the current, even when the fly remain motionless. That is the secret sauce to the Simram. The collar can often "trigger" a bonefish to eat. The eye placement also gives the Simram a unique movement when stripped, and also helps the fly land and stand upright. Don't forget the Simram in your bonefish box! It is a must have pattern!!

Flash: Pearl Krystal Flash
Tail: Tan Polar Fiber, Craft Fur, or Pseudo Hair
Body: Pearl Flat Braid
Collar: Tan Zonker Rabbit Strip
