Spotlight Caddis Emerger

The Spotlight Caddis Emerger is one of my all time favorite caddis patterns. This pattern is barely used or known about by many anglers, but I assure you it is DEADLY! The Spotlight Caddis is a dry emerger, which means it sits on top of the surface film, with the butt end of the fly submerged in the water. This makes the fly look as if it is struggling to break the surface of the water, and big trout know this means dinner time! The Spotlight Caddis can be tied in 3 main colors: Tan, Olive and Black. All of which are very effective depending on the type of caddis hatching. The Spotlight is a very busy fly to tie and there are a lot of materials that are crammed into this little size 14 hook. But they are worth tying and a must have in your caddis box!
